Morning Routine [Summer 2022].

For today’s post, I decided to update my morning routine.

For those who MIGHT be new here, I’m a mom of three [two being boy/girl twins] and currently living with my partner.

My mornings have changed and shifted a bit since the last time. Plus, it’s summer and we don’t have to worry about getting ready for the bus by 7:45am.

Here’s what my current summer morning routine with three kids (6, 4 & 4) + living with my partner, looks like.

5:45am: I’ve been waking up earlier these days; usually before 6:00am. Summer mornings just makes it that much easier. I head straight to the bathroom, brush my teeth and wash my face.

Oh and drink about 16-20 ounces of water too.

6:15am: Go for a walk.wp-1656674543053On most mornings, I try to go for a solo 10-15mins walk just get clear my mind and get prepped for the day. On the days I can do this, I just feel that much better.

When I come back, I’ll light a candle and get coffee brewing. wp-16580130521346:30am: By this time, all the kiddos are usually awake.

Most of the time I’ll find them reading, coloring or playing with “shapes.”wp-1658610441274Once my coffee is done, I’ll bring it to the couch and sit with them for a bit.

6:45am: Get my partner’s iced coffee and breakfast ready for work. wp-1657238443297For the iced coffee, I just make a pot of coffee the night before and leave it in the fridge overnight (at least for 12 hours for best taste).

7:15am: My partner usually leaves at around 7:00am for work and by this time, the kiddos are ready for breakfast.

For the summer, my older two usually do fruit + cereal while my youngest does sausage with fruit on the side; she’s the savory breakfast kind of gal.

7:45: Clean up the kitchen from breakfast while the kids brush their teeth, get dressed and work on their chores.wp-16586084827738:00am: Kiddos head out to play in the yard before it gets TOO hot.

8:10am: Read outside for at least 20 minutes.wp-1657658565302I’ll bring the rest of my coffee [or refill a bit] outside and enjoy some “quiet time” before the rest of the day unfolds.

8:30am: Either stay outside for a bit longer OR get ready for work.

My mornings after 8:30am vary as Mondays we stay home, Tuesdays/Wednesdays I teach early and Thursdays/ Fridays I like to enjoy an even slower morning since I don’t have to work early.

And there you have it, my current summer morning routine.

It’s not always perfect, but it’s something that I enjoy and look forward to.

I just try to remind myself to take it one day at a time.

    1. Thank you! I picked this house mainly for the yard space because it’s such a nice space! I am pretty lucky that the trail connects a few minutes away and I can walk to it! I wish it didn’t take me 4 years to find it lol. Thanks so much for reading and stopping! Hope you have a great week. 🙂
