Now, by no means am I am expert on skin care.
Nor may this products work for you.
I wanted to share my current skin care routine as I’ve recently had a couple of questions on what I use for my skin on my Instagram.Firstly, I don’t wear any make-up besides this lipstick and the occasional mascara if I’m going out.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wearing make-up. For me, I just personally don’t care for it. My skin is very sensitive and I’ve found that the less I use on my face, the better my skin is.
Second, I still do get the occasional acne during my monthly and there is not much I can control with that. I let it run it’s course and it will usually go away in about 2-3 days. If it’s a really bad one, I’ve found that THIS cream works best for my skin.
Now before I even dive into the products, my number tip that everyone can benefit from for clearer skin?
Yep, you head me. Good ole H 2 O. I can pretty much tell if I am not drinking enough based on how my skin looks. You can read more about why drinking water is beneficial for your skin HERE, but I wanted to insert this from the site:
#4. Reduces Wrinkles
Water keeps your body hydrated and refreshed and helps maintain your skin’s elasticity. People who drink large amounts of water are less likely to suffer from scars, wrinkles, and soft lines and they won’t show as many signs of aging as those who drink little amounts of water. As you grow older, it is tougher for your body to retain water, so by inputting more water into your system, you are helping your body and your skin stay hydrated.”
Burt’s Bees Acne Solutions Purifying Gel Cleanser.Ever since my previous cleanser went out of stock, I was on the hunt. I spotted this cleanser by Burt’s Bees that [to be honest] looked similar in color to my previous cleanser so that was my thought process in trying it out.
I know, random.
To my surprise, it worked very well. It did reduce the amount of acne I got during my monthly as well as now in the summer. Typically I get a lot of “heat pimples” and since using this cleanser, I’ve barely have had this summer.
Burt’s Bees Renewal Firming Moisturizing Cream.I got a free sample months ago of the Burt’s Bees night cream and loved it. But for the summer months, I just felt it was a bit too heavy. I looked into their other creams and spotted this renewal firming cream.
I’ve only been using the renewal firming cream for a month, but so far my so good. It seems to be similar to the night cream without being so heavy. I did like it for the colder weather because my skin tends to dry out pretty quick in the winter.
St. Ive’s Acne Control Apricot Scrub.A classic staple for me since high school.
For real, I grew up on this stuff and it still works. Since my skin is oily and a bit sensitive, I only use this scrub a few times a week. But it has helped tremendously in keeping acne at bay and keeping my skin fresh. I’ve tried their other scrubs, but this one by far is the best one.
CeraVe Ultra-light Face Moisturizing Lotion.Since I started using that Burt’s Bees night cream at the beginning of the year after my eye repair cream ran out, I noticed that the night cream kept the puffiness under my eyes at bay. I decided to ditch the eye repair cream and look for something else with sunscreen for the summer months [as it approached].
Insert this lotion by CeraVe.
I liked that it had a bit of SPF in it as well as the hydraulic acid that the eye repair cream contained. I’ve been using this lotion for the past two months and I love that it’s lightweight on my face (again because it can get super oily in the summer).
I also like that it’s helping reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as the eye repair cream.
And there you have it!Those four products are what make up my skin care routine. Technically, I’d say it’s three for my DAILY skin care routine, since I only use the apricot scrub 3-4 times a week.
Let me know below if YOU have used any of these products above.
I hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the week and happy Independence Day to my United States folks!
