Hello friends!
As you can tell, I’ve been a bit M.I.A from the blogging world. My grandfather passed away last week. ❤ Last week was very draining; emotionally, mentally and physically.
My mom gave me the opportunity to see him one last time in Puerto Rico and Samantha came along for the ride. I am glad I was able to see him one last time and that Sam was able to “meet him.”Many people had asked how she did on the plane. Surprisingly, she did well! The only “cry spell” was on the connecting flight from NYC to Puerto Rico. It was 11:45pm and cut way into her bed time. She was just super tired but she calmed down after 10 minutes and slept the whole way there.
Definitely early flights are better to ensure she’s sleepy! Samantha and I got to visit my grandma’s house and see (and meet) a lot of family that I normally don’t see often.
It was especially wonderful to see my grandma. She is a strong soul. ❤
The trip was quick and we had a lot to do for my grandma as well as for my grandpa’s service.
We did have a couple of hours to spare at one point and we took Samantha to the beach. She wasn’t too fond of the open water but loved playing in the sand!
It was nice to have some time to just sit and relax in that moment. I was able to think of all the fun memories I had of my grandpa. I miss him more than words can every describe.
Although things were draining, I enjoyed seeing my family and the “semi” break I got. I had been getting stressed from lack of days off.
So even though I wasn’t exactly resting, it was nice to not have daily responsibilities besides dealing with Sam.
It was good to get home to Patrick Sunday night. I don’t know what else I would do without him! Every day gets a little better. I know my grandpa is at peace and watching over us.
